Actually, I usually use a pen. I love reading paperbacks, and I often jot down my thoughts next to thought-provoking sentences or paragraphs with a ballpoint pen. It helps me engage with the material on a deeper level. When I teach, I also prefer taking notes with a pen and paper beside my laptop.
There’s something about writing things down with a pen that helps me organize my thoughts better and frees my mind to think more creatively. I find that the tactile experience of writing with a pen enhances my focus and memory retention.

Pencils are great for situations where you need to erase or make changes, but for my daily tasks, I find pens to be more practical and durable. The permanence of ink encourages me to be more decisive in my writing plus the tip, unlike a pencil, doesn’t just suddenly snap.

When was the last time you bought a pen or pencil?
