AEE: Just Crickets? What to Say When No One Responds
have you ever have the awkward moment when you took a story to someone and their responds were just crickets ?
yes, i have a lot of crickets in my life.
cricket 蟋蟀, the sound of crickets is the sound of silence, nothing else.
1. this is not about insects昆虫, there was nothing but crickets means whatever you trying to do there's no responds, no one said anything.
crickets is the sound in the night, they live closer to nature area, it's so quiet that you can hear the crickets.
eg, i took her how to use the new system, but honestly it was just crickets .( maybe she didn't understand, staring盯着看at you, and you can hear the crickets)
anyone want to give their input here ? no ? just crickets ? ( it's awkwardness)
it was crickets / crickets .
you express humanlity, break the awkwardness.
2. you can hear a pin drop.
pin drop 针落地声，形容非常安静
crickets kind of negative, but pin drop maybe negative maybe no one interested, but it could also be people very interested or surprised, they're very focus .
3. silent
i want to hear some responds but the place was silent.

so that was a little awkward.
i know, i couldn't believe what Charlie said about her new boy friend.
i know, i think two of us were so interested you can hear a pin drop.
definitly, i just think this is going no where fast.我只是觉得这事进展得太快了。
yep feel bad.
did you text her yet ?
i did try to reach her but it's just been crickets.
hopefully she's not mad, it just weird that she's been silent.

Crickets(It's a really great way to break the akwardness)
(It's the sound of the silence in the night when u live in the closer to nature areas, maybe in the city too in some cases.)
All you hear is crickets. You don't hear anything else.
Ex: I told her how to work the new system, but honestly it was just crickets.
Ex: Anyone wannted give input here? No? just crickets
Tips: It's kinda funny. It's kind of making a joke. Expressing a sense of humility or could be self- deprecating.
Pin drop
(usually for negative things. Suitable for being interested or not. )
Role play
A: So that was a little awkward.
B: I know I couldn't believe what Cherry said about her nea boyfriend
A: I know. I think two of us were so interested. You could hear a pin drop.
B: Definitely, I just think this is going nowhere fast.
A: Yeah, just feel bad.
B: Did u text her yet?
A: I did try to reach her, but It's just been crickets.
B: Hopefully, she is not mad. It's weird that she's been silent.
