AEE: Why You Should NOT Say “For Your Information”
the differences between FYI and for your information ?
they're the same thing, but for your information is more direct, FYI feels like more playful, more common.
1. FYI we always said or put it into emails to share information without expecting immediate responds or action, you just giving someone information and they don't really need to respond usually.
eg, FYI, I'm writing to a grocery store if you need anything.
The car is out of gas, FYI .
2. For your information is always a confrontational对抗的way to correct someone. sometimes jokingly between friends sometimes angrily愤怒地, but people almost never say For your information alone way out.
eg, For your information i was not the one who left of the milk out. ( sounds like to fight)
i was not the last one to have the key, for your information.
3. just as you know. ( try to politely let someone know something)
eg, Just as you know, i didn't have the key lost, I'm not sure who lost them, but it wasn't me.
4. by the way
eg, By the way, i was not the one who left of the milk out, I don't know who did it.
5. for what is worth 无论如何
eg, for what is worth, I was always trying to be on time.

Role Play
for what is worth, I'm really sorry about what happened.
oh thanks, by the way, i was mostly just surprised and i probably shouldn't react the way i did.
you have the right to be upset, I'm sorry about saying FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I'm not the one to lock the car, that wasn't i call for.
i appreciate that, just as you know, i find out later why you're upset and then i understood.
i still shouldn't take it out everyone know, thanks for understanding.

A: For what it's worth, I'm really sorry about what happened.
B: Oh, thx, by the way, I was mostly just surprised I probably shouldn't react the eay I did.
A: U have the evry right to br upset. I'm sorry about saying "for your information, I'm not the one who wrecked the car." That was uncalled for
B: I appreciate that. Just u know, I found later why u were upset then I understood.
A: I shouldn't have taken it out on everyone though. Thx for understanding.

The difference between"FYI" and "For your information"
1. "FYI"
This is said or written we ofren put it in the emails to share information without an immediate response or action. That means they don't need to respond to u immediately.
Ex: FYI, I'm riding to the grocery store if u need anything.
Ex: The car is out of gas, fyi.
👏 You don't need them to respond. U should pay a attention to this, but I'm not expecting your response.
2. "For your information"
So it is really what stands for "FYI", but adding confrontational tone to itself when correcting someone.
Ex: For your information, I was not the one who left the milj out.(sounds like fight.)
Ex: I was not the last one to have the key, for your information.
3. "Just you know"
Ex: Just u know, I didn't have the keys last. I'm not sure who lost them, buy it wasn't me.(depending on your intonation if it's souned rude and offensive.)
4. "By the way"
👏Tips: It's sounded offensive or sarcastic depending on what your tone or intonation is.
5. "For what it's worth"
Ex: For what it's worth, I always try to be on time.(Tone is also the key whether u will be sounded sarcastic or accusing other person being late.)
