正文：December 3rd began as an uneventful early-winter day in Seoul, South Korea’s capital. Many went to sleep soundly that evening. By the time the sun rose the next morning, the country’s president, Yoon Suk Yeol, had declared martial law, attempted to forcibly take control of the National Assembly—and then abruptly reversed course. The extraordinary turn of events has thrust his country into chaos, called the future of his presidency into question and tested the strength of South Korean democracy.
