于是，我们看见了因纽特人的生活、德州的农场、美国护林员姐妹与她的山林，又或是两国同人女、钓鱼佬、鸟类爱好者、键盘爱好者的“同好”讨论。一个个日常的、平凡的景观为中美民间交流搭起了一个个温暖的小屋，好像李华的信终于有了回音，而美式童年中那个挖向中国的洞也终于在电子世界里找到了出口。
小题大做Overreactology紧急筹备TikTok特辑，在本期中邀请到一位在TikTok上拥有6.8万粉丝的“难民”朋友，并应嘉宾要求在1月20日特朗普上台前完成录制。节目制作期间，有关TikTok去留未定的新闻不断弹出——我们仍在美国乃至全球政治风起云涌的历史节点上。幸运的是，在全球政治右转、地缘局势紧张的背景之下，我们依旧能拥有这些时刻，在小猫小狗、各类表情包、互做家庭作业的氛围下一起聊聊“美国赛博难民空降小红书”的心路历程。

Perhaps this mirrors your own experience over the past few days: you unlock your phone only to find the once familiar social media app no longer accessible. In a rush, you download another app—this time, a red icon APP from China—and step into a whole new virtual world. Against the backdrop of the U.S. Potential TikTok ban, TikTok users dissatisfied with American society and politics have rebelliously flocked to Xiaohongshu, becoming “cyber refugees”. Relying on translation tools, these refugees are now exploring this distant cyberspace—Red Note, while Chinese neticizens, who are clinging to the old dream of global village, warmly embrace them with humor and goodwill.
So, the Chineses find themselves watching the lives of the Inuit, farms in Texas, life of an American forest ranger sister and the mountains, and the conversations of shared interests: fan-fiction writers, fish and bird enthusiasts, and keyboard aficionados. These everyday, unremarkable landscapes form warm little sanctuaries for Sino-American grassroots exchanges—like the long-awaited reply to Li Hua's letter or the long-sought tunnel from the American childhood dream of reaching China, now finding an outlet in this digital world.
In this special episode of Overreactology on TikTok, we invited a "TikTok refugee" guest with 68,000 followers on TikTok. At their request, we completed the recording before January 20th, before Trump's second term began. During production, news of TikTok's uncertain fate continued to break—after all, we are still at a pivotal moment in both American and global politics. But fortunately, despite the rightward turn in global politics and mounting geopolitical tensions, we still have these moments. Surrounded by cats, dogs, memes, and the exchanges of doing homework together, we discuss the emotional journey of "American cyber refugees landing on Red Note".
